:bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie: ... reminds me of my GR .... he doesn't have a temper too ... only just a "blur" & "huh?" kind of look .... but he's very very shy

Unfortunately same as the shetland in the house. She is extremely intelliegent (teach once and remember), however she is too shy and remembers too much (she is extremely cautious , never forget about the little falls and small little accidents she had)

I am trying to train her to chase cats....... damn .... I just got her to chase birds recently :bsmilie: More to go before i upgrade her to cat-chasing mode ...

Anyway she is very speces biase- means , she dun like other breeds of dogs near her. She only prefer shetland. She has a childhood shetland bf... I just make sure when she visit him, she is not in the heat.

oic.. is that mean all ur female dogs never sterlise before?

Most people sterlize their female dogs due to less problems in future - growths etc.

I had a silky terrier before that was not sterlized ... alot of problems.

What problem did he develop ?

I have not encounter any problem with previous pets - cats & dogs (not sterilize) , except when the female are in the heat or the male pet are in "need" daily .... other than the slight inconvenience , they seem healthy till old age.

Besides the usual periods ... she had growths ... which might be cancerous .. so sent her to the vet to get operated on :(

Male dogs... not too sure ... you gotta check whether he has an undescended testicle ... my GR has it .. so he has to go to the vet soon ...

First growth is not cancerous.

I think for the sake of kids and family, both (children and pet) need to be train/educate since young. We can never be too sure until accidents happen. :nono:

kitkat, I must agree that u have a very correct attitude.

no matter what breed is the dog, the owner must have some form of basic obedience training for the dog. It is a must.

Puppy will learn during 2-8months. After this age, they can still be trained, but very hard, and chances of success is lower.

Recently, a woman was having plastic surgery after being attacked by her own pet. You wonder what kind if the dog ? 9 out of 10 people will answer.."is it a Rottweiler ?"

but i read from the paper that indeed the dog who attacked is a labrador !!!

never be sure of the dog.....as u will sure what human is thinking too.

I have a Rottweiler. The Rottie like to play with my children more than me. But I never let them alone without my guidance.

Take cautious prevention (dun let the children alone with big size dog, untrained dog...) , train your dog, and be alert all the time.
