Any comment about the Sony HXR-NX5P video cam?

I am think of getting the Sony NX5P prosumer video camera. But at $5k+ a pop, it would be a costly mistake if the NX5P does not perform as well as it is described on the brochure and product videos. I guess the best review is from users who have experience using it.

May I know what do you like and dislike about the NX5P? Is a new model coming out soon?

Also, which brand is best known for high quality prosumer video cam (i.e. +/- $5k in price)? I have been reviewing Sony only and I worry that I might miss other better brands. I don't have the time to check out all the brands out there due to my busy work schedule.

Can anyone offer some reviews?

Thanks!

Not great in low lights. 20X zoom! can attached SS recorder for dual recording - safety!

At that price point today, you can get a higher bitrate Sony XDCAM system. (No prores conversion needed) Consider the Sony PMW100. The sensor is very much improved in terms of low light and clean gain over the NX5P even though its single CMOS. I tried it at BCA and was quite tempted. Slightly smaller body than the NX5P. But in terms of NXCAM range, NX5P is likely very ripe for an update next year.

Yeah, I am concerned about buying the NX5 which I suspect is reaching end-of-life. That's what holding me back.
