As for me, my next line is either get CZ 16-80 lens or a new body ( either a57/a77 ) and a camera bag! (lowepro sling 202w)

You could check bro A77 photo thread I have some Tamron USD shots there . Its very sharp lens and really shoulder to shoulder with the Sony 70-300G

Prime? They have 135mm and 85mm, both are v sharp and produces good bokeh.

Unless you willing to spend another 1k like me to get the 2470 for the constant f2.8. Comes with v speedy and quiet SSM which is very good for video taking.

I have the 2470 too and use it on my NEX-7. Great lens thou I find it isn't too suitable for indoor shots. Maybe I'm too spoilt by the f1.8 aperture on my Zeiss 24mm and the Sony 50 OSS when shooting indoors as f2.8 seems much much darker. Thou I have to say when there is good light, its a fantastic lens... weight aside

Can you still see your nex7 after attaching the 2470 to it?

I am already getting stares when I pair A55 to this lens. Concept of big lens small body doesn't go very well with many locals.
