Quite appalled by gov inaction against this chronic behavior.
I mean..why not issue legal threat like other cases ?

Conditions were laid down for Mr Chew to comply with. They claimed that his family is begging for this street brand of justice to stop.

The owner has been CSI-ed by SMRT Feedback and harassed accordingly. :D

I truly hope these people continue the good work they are doing and track down the low-life's future business "reincarnation" until he goes on all fours and beg.

Anything that does not get them money, we can wait ages for things to happen. It will usually take a lot of public outcry before they will try to do something. And not because they feel deep in their hearts they want to do it, but perhaps to appease public anger and prevent themselves from losing popularity. There are many such past incidents.

The country is very pro business. Unfortunately, at the expense of consumers' protection.

Before the Vietnamese called the police, the shop told them they would return only $600. Then thinking that the police could help them recover the rest of the money, the victims called the police. CASE also came into the picture. But what happened after that? The shop was willing to return even a lower sum, $450 only! How more ridiculous could the whole thing have gotten? Moreover, this shop was blacklisted for some time. But nothing could be done to them.

We have laws that fine people this and that. Drink even plain water on the MRT trains and inside stations can be fined. But when it comes to protecting consumers' rights, there is absolutely no laws for it!

So if you got enough money, and if you don't mind bad publicity, just set up some kind of business here. The government will absolutely LOVE you. Cos directly or indirectly, they collect taxes and rental from you. Then you sell inferior products. Take advantage of your customers. There is absolutely no way the authorities can do anything to you. That's how they attract potential business owners to set up businesses here.

First world country? Yah, right.

We need a scape goat or precedence case here, I nominate mobileair. One more time, it should be last time , if one more case report of mobile air dishonest and cheating behavior.

Toothless tiger? What is the point of blacklist and they continue to harm others? The fact that you can blacklist and not being sue, it means it is true but no law to take action? I am quite sure they have broken some laws dealing with their business. The tour guys broke so many he don't even know what what happen! Haha. The answer is want or not and who instructed it.

Hais... Just now went to SLS, wanted to buy iPhone warranty, but Jover never open shop today :(

Just don't buy high end gadgets from SLS. But computer parts (hardwares), accessories etc are still ok as long not over $200. These shops blacklisted with complaints, they always change their names and signboards... And back to same unethical tactics

Boycott the shops by their address. Regardless of the business name, boycott the unit.

That way, changing name is useless, leasing the shop out will also not work as everyone knows there's no business regardless of who is the retailer.

Will render the unit's value to useless. No one wants to rent or buy it. If it's the owner, he's killing his own assets.

This will put lessors on the guard and be mindful of their tenants than stating ignorance over what's going on.
