Another newbie learning to take food photos

Seng Kee Mushroom Minced Meat Noodle @ #01-04 Serangoon Gardens Food Centre

Tried their $9 BCM with Fish Maw soup. Absolutely superb. Soup was v rich, n had 3 big pieces of fish maw, perfectly cooked meat n a half cooked egg that I broke and gave the soup an extra oommph.

DSC04311.jpg

the noodles had a great bite to them and was doused with mushroom sauce, piquant chilli and small chunks of crispy lard.

Yummy!! There is only 1 Minced Meat Noodle that added egg into the soup which is in AMK. Now I know another 1 haha Thanks!!

yes, it's pretty good. It's priced above the other stalls in the food centre, but I think it's super worth it.

Mee Pok Tar @ 132 Traditional Teochew Noodle @ Block 59 Marine Terrace #01-105

DSC05233.jpg

Noodles-wise, definitely one of the best Mee Pok Tars I've ever tried. Every strand was quoted with piquant chilli and tiny pieces of crunchy fried lard. The variety of ingredients were just mere complements to this absolutely superb Mee Pok. Be prepared for the long queue.

Yummy food from Alexandra Village Food Ctr

Beef Noodles @ China Square @ 01-45

DSC05518.jpg

all the pieces of beef and tendons and brisket were perfectly cooked, gravy was good, but can have a bit more "beefy taste", which was a little strange, cuz the small bowl of soup was absolutely "beefy" !

Orh Luak @ Shun Li Fried Oysters @ 01-78

DSC05505.jpg

an atypical version that's less crispy, less starchy, yet somehow still fragrant, tasty, eggy and comes with lots of fresh, plump oysters.

super fresh ingredients, I think mostly handmade. Chilli sauce had some citrusy zest to it. Nice sweetish soup cooked with yellow beans. One of the better YTF I've had for a long time.

beef brisket noodles @ Fatty Ox HK Kitchen @ 02-84 Chinatown Food Ctr

DSC09502.jpg

Another refined delivery by Fatty Ox, the tasty n chewy beef briskets were braised to perfection ...

DSC095172.jpg

...n went well w the very Cantonese restaurant style springy noodles

GReat shots bro!! Making me hungry!!

Hup Huat (white) Carrot Cake @ 02-35 Hainanese Village Centre (Blk 105 Hougang)

Thanks to Bro Ntheni's recommendation, went to try this stall..

DSC00635-1.jpg

Rather unconventional, the fella throws in plenty of egg and spring onion, fries on a flat pan, smears the tasty chilli n cuts into cubic pancakes to be served.

DSC00592.jpg

He arranges the 7 pieces ($3 version) into a 'flower' on the plate...

DSC00588-1.jpg

Interesting texture, and tastes pretty good ! I only know of 3 other stalls that does it this way, the famous Chey Sua @ Toa Payoh, Lau Goh @ Zion Road (fried by a smiley hearing-impaired uncle) and He Zhong @ Bukit Timah (my fav, slightly thicker).

Nice Shot!! Love the colour!! That was pretty fast bro haha I also just went there for lunch yesterday. Will be better if they can add lots of "Cai Bo" (dried radish) inside lol

Lorong Ah Soo Lor Mee @ #02-51 Hainanese Village Centre (Blk 105 Hougang)

Stall w the longest queue in the FC (when I was there), they open at abt 1030am and sells till they run out by pm, and closed on Monday only... so cant catch them during breakfast...

DSC01681.jpg

Interesting thing is that they don't have sliced pork loins nor crispy stuff, but shreds of duckmeat n ngoh hiang. It's prob healthier...

DSC01707.jpg

the lor was thick, fragrant n savory, though I do prefer the Bt Purmei and the Bt Batok ones...

Think it's called Ang Mo Kio Lor Mee or something right ? It's on my hit list, haha..

Boon Kee Wanton Noodle @ 01-40 Clementi Market & Food Centre (Blk 448 Clementi Central)

photo1-1.jpg

v popular here..evident fr the long queue, can also see that they put some effort in the presentation ..

photo2.jpg

Charsiew n wantons were so-so but it's really the sauce that makes a lot of difference. It's a little on the dark side, but can taste some sweetness n tanginess inside (prob fr ketchup) n spiciness fr the chilli. Pretty good !

Lor Mee @ Ang Mo Kio Loh Mee . Laksa @ 01-99 Chong Boon Food Centre @ Blk 453A Ang Mo Kio Ave 10

took food esteem's advice n tried this stall..indeed it has a long queue.....

DSC07428.jpg

Came w fish cakes, a ngoh hiang, a whole braised egg and slices of braised pork that looked and had a texture like the Chasiu that we get at Ramen shops... the gravy is a little on the watery side, but nevertheless v flavorful... Excellent !
