Soon... someone will hav 2+1 cams, 9 lenses and 1 pair of eyes. :bsmilie::bsmilie:
So, I urge folks here to keep their hopes in check.![]()
you got canon shares issit
Nope. Just to be realistic. Hopefully, it won't be another disappointment like the Panasonic G1.
On a different note, the collapse of major American banks and the poor showing of Singapore's growth in the second quarter are signs that we should perhaps save up some money... :bsmilie:
I am quite impressed with the leak control carried out by Canon.
However, it may imply 2 things:
(i) Specs may not be as impressive as hyped/hoped, and Canon has fears that leaks may jeopardize its impact (even the impressive Nikon D3 specs were leaked before actual release)
(ii) The greater the secrecy, the higher the hopes. And if the camera does not live up to all this hype, the disappointment may be immense and may cause a massive sellout.
So, I urge folks here to keep their hopes in check.
PS: There were rumors that Canon execs were relieved when they first heard the Nikon D700 specs. This mirrored the reaction Nikon had when the 1Ds3 specs were released last year: "a Nikon exec said that they'd "breathed a huge sigh of relief" when they saw Canon's announcements of this Monday", as described here. Well, we certainly hope Canon has some good grounds for their confidence (and not just because the 5D replacement has video capabilities... :bsmilie: )
We're literally at the crossroads this last few hours!
It has come down to this: If the new model keeps the "5D" name with a Mark II insignia, it will be what most aspire it to be. If it's a 7D, 6D etc, it will be yet another forgettable DSLR from the non-1D stable.
If u remember...
Long Long ago in a country Far Far away....
A Jedi master once mentioned...
'' A 5D split it shall, one for the Master, the other, commoner for"

Yes, Master Yoda.
If I'm yoda... I wouldn't be cracking my head if the chicken or the egg comes first.
Anyway, not really my focus... I'm thinking when 1D4 is coming (now that there's Digic IV)![]()
