Dell having 10% discount on CF card.

SimpleTech giving US$50 rebate for their 1GB CF card.

Original orice from Dell is US$270 for this card.
After 10% discount becomes: US$243
After $50 rebate becomes $193

Normally no tax (if ordered from outside Texas) and free shipping.

This is approximately S$347.4 using 1.8 as exchange rate.

I did not say that it is valid outside of US. It is not.;)

You might have missed the earlier discussions on CF card offers in US.

If you know someone in US you can get his/her help to purchase the item and get the rebate.

The shipping cost of the CF card should be quite cheap because of its small size. I have not tried, but one should be able to ship it in a padded envelop using normal airmail.

Hummm I might just do that. (Get my US friend to get it for me)
But hear that the rebate thingy is a little inconsitent. We have people over here who are still waiting for their rebates..Dell was having a rebate for PC sales over here as well...believe some even have been waiting 6mths and no reponse!

I have no experience with SimpleTech rebates before. I recently submitted one (for 512MB CF) and it has not shown up on their online tracking yet. They claim that it will take up to 10 weeks before the rebate cheque arrives at my doorstep.

My friend recently submitted a rebate request to them and they claimed that it was invalid because it was mailed later than 10 days from the date of purchase, which in actual fact my friend did. He had to call them up to get them to re-proccess his claim. I think it could be a gimmick also to reduce the amount of rebate dollars they actually pay.

So far I have had good experience with the following:
1. Netgear (wireless router) - received cheque within 6 weeks of purchase

2. Dazzle (USB video capture) - acknowledged and approved, should get cheque within next 30 days

Usually rebates offered by the big retailers like Circuitcity, Costco etc are also good.

Good luck with the rebates.... it might take up to even 6 months.

If you are referring to my 512MB CF purchase, I am prepared for that already. I went ahead with thte purchase with the following considerations:

1. I really need the card
2. Even without the rebate, US$118 for 512MB was still a good deal at that time (Amazon selling it for $117 now).

So getting the rebate is a good thing, and if I dont get it or have to wait long long, it's okay with me.

For the 1GB offer that I posted here, if you are in Singapore and interested, please consider the wait time for the rebate and even the risk of not getting it at all. My advice is that you should be comfortable with the price without the rebate before you proceed.

In this case US$243 = S$437.4 (before shipping) may not be a good price. I recently read that someone bought a Kingstaon 1GB CF for S$390.

Simpletech I will trust, Kingston CF... hmm, don't think I want to try that.

If you're prepared for it like you said, just do it.

Getting back rebate in US is a hassle from my experience... but after the price even without rebate is good... ^^

depends on the state? my 'connections' are in California and NY and i've never been charged with sales tax for shipping to those states....

The simpletech form says the rebate will arrive with 8-10 weeks not 6 months. They are legally obliged to give u the rebate within the time specified:

I've submitted a rebate for a Garmin GPS so fingers crossed as well :) But the Garmin rebate form was good in the sense that they didn't have the 'send within 10 days of purchase' requirement.
