Ms. Maricris Fabi Carlos will teach participants the step-by-step process in creating her magnificent art works from photographs. Says Maricris, “Through a brilliant amount of tweaking, a mere photo metamorphoses into a more dramatic work of art. The paintings of Amorsolo and his canvas will live again in your photographs." Her Amorsoloesque technique is a tribute to the late master painter and Filipino National Artist Fernando Amorsolo – the evocative color and distinctive lighting. “The Amorsoloesque concept, as inspired by National Artist Fernando Amorsolo whose art depicts Filipino culture, is a borne out of our own innate love for portraitures and landscapes,” Maricris says.
An accomplished photographer, she has received many awards and accolades, both local and international, for her achievements in photography. She recently won in the international Photo Competition held in South Korea where she bested more than 500 entries from Japan, Korea, Philippines, China, USA and Canada to win the 2011 Asia Pacific District Photographic Competition of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
Maricris has been going around the Philippines and has also been invited around Asia to conduct workshops. She recently brought the “Amorsoloesque” workshop to Dubai and Qatar. This time, she will be in Singapore on July 14 and 15, 2012. Ms. Kris will be joined by her husband Mr. Jon Bucks Carlos, an accomplished photographer and Photoshop expert and artist in his own right.
“Amorsoloesque is a learning technique,” says Kris, “the only limit is your imagination.”
