Not sure what cam you are using, but if you can. Switch to spot metering , max the aperature F8 or more to increase the depth of field. Focus lock on the eye of the subject if possible
If you have problem focusing on the subject itself, focus on the anemone where the subject is standing on , half depress to focus lock and then re-compose
the problem that i had was the subject was too small, and colour similar to the background. i couldnt even see it in my lcd display, haha, how to focus.. i was using f8 already. about locking focus, that is something that i going to try also
