Amazon USA offers free shipping to Singapore for purchases above USD 125

Yup, if all your ordered items are in stock, it can be pretty fast if everything in the chain goes smoothly. (or maybe I just got lucky)
Their estimates are probably on the conservative side to account for possible delays?

Here's my last Amazon order for comparison. I picked the cheapest shipping option available at that time, so I thought it would take a while.
It was AmazonGlobal Standard Shipping (averages 9-12 days), compared to the new FREE AmazonGlobal Saver (averages 9-14 days) option we have now.

Order placed: 28 Nov
Shipped: 30 Nov (Estimated delivery date: 7 Dec)
Arrived: 4 Dec

Is it advisable to buy Lee Filter Set+Foundation Kit on Amazon via this service? I have no experience buying online from overseas. But, I heard there is above certain amount, we have pay tax, right? If I'm not wrong, S$400 and above.

yes 400 and above. u wanna escape then u split the purchases lor since delivery free, but u mist check if the lee stuff is valid for the free shipping thing

It's not that much cheaper. $6-$7 compared to SG price for foundation kit. If I combine a few more items, it will save more. Thanks for confirmation.

I buy often from US and use comgateway to ship to SG. But really happy that Amazon can ship to SG. They have some good promo from time to time.

Oh yeah a word of advice, I notice a bro mentioning SCB's MasterCard. I like using their Manhattan card for local purchase (up to 5% cash rebate) but for overseas purchase, the exchange rate is above what the rest of the other bank is charging. More than what I get back in turn of cash back. Tried AMEX, UOB and DBS and their exchange rate seems to be better than SCB's. Anyone know what is the best card to use?

hoho... i spot B + W filters going for cheap online along with batteries and what not! :D

I feel the exchange rate is really bad...sometimes feel there is no gain in it compared to local purchase.

Depending on what one buy, without shipping charges, it can help one save 5-35%. It offers the convenience of shopping from the comfort of home. Not to mention the great variety of goods available.

Exchange rates vary by a few points. I save $30-50 on shipping and more on the price difference with local prices..

do I need to buy an ac power adapter?

buy only what you need, not what you want,

buy what is not available in local, or hard to get in local, or very expensive in local,

do consider you will need to pay GST if your items add up to be more than S$400.

do consider some items will not have any warranty here, if so, it is better to buy grey set from local stores, at least you still able to enjoy shop warranty.

All our orders have put us on the map!

THE world reacted with incredulity yesterday when it discovered what a "Singapore" was. Some clues to the existence of the city-state began emerging on Wednesday, when millions of orders for respiratory masks began crashing Amazon's servers.
"I've seen that word before on one or two orders, you know?" an e-retailer told The Business Times yesterday. "But I got like a million orders from these Singaporeanese this week, and I thought, 'boy, the air in China must be getting a lot worse'."
Some, however, have expressed doubt at its existence. "I can't see it on Nasa's website of satellite images. There's a patch of white smoke where people say it should be," a forum member on Reddit said.
"This is a massive cover-up for something else. I don't know what it is, but I know someone whose dentist's cousin's wife has been threatened by the yakuza. So anything is possible with these Koreans."

You can order air purifiers with free shipping. It's a glitch that the shipping doesn't come out free. Email them to get the shipping free.
