Am a new new newbies can Pls highlight me

Thanks! U clear my doubt! I nearly sell off my R72 cheap since Ny gear is not compatible. Lastly any lens can be use isn't?
My lens is 18-55mm. Any problem with it? Or as long as I can solve on my WB, all problem is clear?

Setting WB to 2500K will give magenta instead of red, both are ok since it is RAW file.

Using D700 f/8, 120sec, ISO400. Straight from camera setting WB at 2500k

After PP by correcting WB and channel swap.

18-55mm will do. is the camera's hot mirror that's giving headache. incompatible lens at most produce hotspot on the picture. but that's another story.

in short, kit lens 18-55mm is able to take IR picture without any prob.

Meaning if I am able to take a IR pictures. The picture will appear in red. Can I say tat?

It depends on the camera AWB, might look red/pink/purple/brown/cyan etc ...

Hihi! WB is set at "PRE"?. I tried to snap just now, my picture turn out to be totally black. Is it IR can onli snap in daytime? Sorry for my stupid question....

My IR cam is a modded D60 (with R72).

So if the WB is correct. Wat col will be the picture? Brown?
I took a picture by pressing onto the remote control and I can see a pink light sensor from the picture I took. So this mean tat my D60 is compatible for IR shooting?

more modern DSLR are less sensitive with IR, unless you mod it.

you still can do IR shots with less sensitive camera, just prepare to do long exposure. without correct WB (or more acceptable WB) most probably you get better result by convert your images to B&W during the post.

Meaning I can ignore the WB and just set to "PRE"

Sino238,

You started 2 threads, both asking the same thing about D60.
I have merged them.

Please refrain from doing same in future.

I was wondering when you going to voice up ;)

Haha, I don't troll these forums as religiously as you guys do.

Is your camera already modded? Modded = IR block filter removed. If so, yes, you must do a Custom WB and yes, you get mostly brownish sky, but foliage will be white.

Also, your kit lens will work fine, no hotspot at all. I'm also using the 18-55.

Cheers.
