My argument is due to the uneducated consumer behavior/preception, they are willing to accept "Professional (The_Cheat's definition)" without expertise or skill ...ironic and sad ... poor consumerconsumer also respect money more and tend to compromise quality, thats their choice, but nothing to do with my "Professional" who is not a *Slave*!
I'm agree totally that a professional need to be skilful or proficient. You would need to show at least some kind of competence before you get paid for doing the job. That's natural in all jobs. And like all jobs, there will be professionals who are good and some who are not as desirable. That's why some professional ask for premium, while some ask for peanuts. As for consumers, if they pay peanuts then expect to get monkey lor!
However, you cannot just look at the definition you want, and ignore the other definition of the word. The fact is, professional would inevitably be linked with money. And getting paid more often than not means that one have to do something, even if it is not that something one wanted. This is in contrast with an amateur, who is not in it for the money. They are in for the love of the thing.
