yeah gotta agree, much better pricing over there for the bodies, but lenses are still a little more ex.
anyway, i'm not too sure if Sonystyle has got a official brick and mortar outlet in malaysia where you could buy stuff at the same price as the online promotions.
i cant remember the name of the outlet i saw at Aeon Terbrau shopping centre, maybe it was Sonystyle not too sure. but they only sell the whole range of sony products, so i don't think its going to be dodgy.
I just called them. The price is ridicule! A salesman quoted me RM2250 for A300K... It is more expensive than Sony MSRP. :bigeyes:
Point is: Is the SonyStyle offer for online purchase only or from any dealer?

I tried but he said it is the best offer. I feel funny and comments it is very expensive. But I didn't tell him that the Malaysia online SonyStyle selling RM1,999.

Generally prices of Alpha in Malaysia differs a lot from Sonystyle shops and dealers. JB is the most expensive city to shop in Malaysia because of their proximity to Singapore. Sony ADs in Sg Wang or Low Yat Plaza, KL sells a lot cheaper then listed on the website. If you are in KL, check out Boeing at Sg Wang or Tarita at Low Yat Plaza. The exchange rate favours Singaporeans (SG$1 is about RM2.39).
I was in Singapore last week briefly for some business matters and checked out some shops in Lucky Plaza and Far East...guess they are more for western tourist as the prices are higher then expected.

In Malaysia, Sonystyle sells at web published price and will do home delivery. Then there are Camera shops that are ADs. Their prices are a lot cheaper but they are not price protected should Sony Malaysia dropped their prices. So the AD's move their items at a better discount.
In Sg Wang KL, you can buy an A900+F58 with Sony Malaysia warranty for RM8800. I bought my F58 at RM1080. Dunno if this is good price or not. A200 with single kit lens should sell for RM1300. A300 Twin Kit lens sells for RM2000.

Wah...:think: maybe Sony Singapore thinks that selling A900 more expensive will lead the market to take Alpha more seriously? But I think Nikon D700 sales is affected by the A900 in Malaysia.
but in msia...cannot pay by INSTALMENT!!!
Guess that should not be such a problem since this gear is more for the ..uh... pro .. ?
