I got mine at Cathay Photos. But they have since stopped selling them mixed and are selling them in box of 6 similar slides.

I also saw Konata selling them, but I'm not sure if they sell the mixed pack now.

Do you all print your slides onto photo papers or most of you are scan into the digital format or see them using the projector?

What is bulk-load actually? you get a whole load of film and loan them into the camera by yourself? Up to you to cut how long you want it to be? :think:

Hi,

Sending your slides in for printing will cost more than negatives. Not sure why it cost more. :dunno: But I usually scan, edit then send in digital copies of them to print, which will cost the same as negatives and yield better results.

I'm still looking for a lightbox. But in the mean time, I'm using a white screen on my monitors to view them till I find one.

I view my slides on my light box with a loupe. For those slides that I want to feature on my website, I scan them.

Bulk-loading is just taking a 100-ft roll of film and rolling it into empty film canisters. There are loaders for doing this - check out bluestrike's article on this: http://www.clubsnap.org/display.php?file=articles/bulkloading/bulk_loading.htm

It's up to you how much film you want to roll in each canister. There's a huge plus here in that you can load maybe 10 frames worth of film and shoot away for experimentation etc.

Hi Thx. But do you find the sharpness is gone though you scan your slide with high resolution? I am not sure abt slides but find the color and the sharpness of the negative which i scanned using 2400dpi are not as good compare to my original photos developed in the photoshop. FInd very grainy. Perhaps due to my scanner? or simply because it is negative?

sure.... all films are temperature-sensitive... Kodak E-6 developer instruction show how...

there are ways to dupl. normal slide gives high contrast, use dupl film fm kodak. need trial and error to get correct exposure. films come in 100ft. go to kodak's wedsite for info.

for dupl equipments, try Ruby Photo store.

Oh just to add, don't bother sending Fujifilm slide films to Ruby for processing. Last time I went in Jan 04, they told me each roll cost $11-$12 to process because they send to external Fujifilm lab to do it. RGB pricing is almost a third of that!

Ruby does develope fujifilm slide. the $11-12 price is for them to send to fuji lab to develope. Just tell the uncle/gal there that you want to develope by them, the $4 something one for wo mounting.
if student, can develope at $4.05

Must specify is the $4 something one so they don't send to fujilab. and the print quality is satisfying for me.

As far as I know Ruby sends it to two places. Spectra and Fuji Labs, depending on your choice. They charge 4+ for Spectra and 6+ for Fuji Labs without mounting.

Hi,

It's just negatives. I do have the same feeling that you have about negatives. The colours are not as good as prints and sharpness wise, it's nothing close to slides scans and they are much more grainy. Perhaps the mini labs have equipments optimised for handling negatives.

My scanner is unable to out-resolve some of my slides at 2880 DPI. I could post some 100% crops of some of my slide scans if you need me to.

thanks for the info. There must have been some strange arrangement when I last went to Ruby to develop my Fujifilm slide film. Hmm. Anyway I still prefer to send my slides to RGB. I get a discount and they do it pretty fast for me. Loyal customer haha. ;p
