I think few retailers stock it. It is rather pricey esp by Malaysia standards.

Maybe this the reason why the retail price is much cheaper in Malaysia. Anyway I puns another piece at $4300 Riggit. Still can negotiate. But I was in a hurry thus did not bit.

Just checked Shashinki.com, xp1 going for RM 5688!
Granted shashinki is typically more expensive, but that's > RM 1000 difference.

yes this is the main reason. I have a friend who operates a camera shop in KL, he told me that the X-Pro1 looks nice on paper but the price is just way too high for a mirrorless camera. Around RM7,000 for the standard 35mm kit it cost typical Malaysians 1 or 2 months of their monthly salary.

Besides price has been dropping steadily since the day the X-Pro1 is launched.

looks like the replica of the A&A silk strap..
but at a fraction of the cost..

Is this sturdy enough for X-pro1 or X100? think of getting one of this for travel use becuz is very lightweight :embrass:..

Quick Answer: No.

Complicated Answer: The three legs meet at the lower part of the tripod hence the centre of gravity for the whole tripod is very high. Usually I would tell my class NOT to extend the centre column to improve stability. So for this tripod there is no way you can do that. I think it is at best an improved version of a monopod and not a full fledge tripod.

As for holding the 70-200mm Canon in stable position, I have my doubts.

I like it lots ... and ended up getting 2. :embrass:

all these half-cases prized crazily right now, mebbe wait for the gariz one which usually sell for around $100... also the kenji one looks overpriced specially with that shoddy looking stitching, mebbe intentional for that authentic home-made look. but to me just looks like poor workmanship

Could be just the photo. The actual thing sure looks very well made ... comparable to the JnK one.
