I dunno man. Even the shadow details in all your shots have that strange hue of color... as if the saturation slider was turned up high. I've seen glacier ice before and know that it's bluish but not that strange hue of blue in your images.
Up to you... I still think your colors are unnaturally oversaturated, probably a bit too generous with your post processing or your monitor is out of calibration.
i also think the colors look very saturated but let's not jump too fast to the conclusion that it is post processed. maybe it is the sensor? just a guess.
A bit too saturated. Could it be the setting of your camera?
Of course if it was really like that, then please ignore my comments.
Though I don't remember it to be so.
Alaska is awesome....
if in camera setting is +100 saturation, would a post processing of saturation -50 be able to bring it back to the same raw data shoot at 0 saturation?
Not really, the images in your other posts have the same over the top saturated colors... First time I've ever seen blue-purple orcas and flourescent green grass.
I've read what you said about "rhetorical tirades in color saturation" but really, what's the whole point of going through a trip like that, taking the time and effort to work on the pictures and finally showing them to others and not want to present them properly? The images are not an accurate representation of the beauty of Alaska if the colors are so wildly distorted. And the fact you advertise that these are worked on a 30" HD Display, calibrated with a Spyder 2 Pro at that, but yet you still produce this sort of strange colors that are wholly acceptable to you just makes me wonder why do you even bother. I'm not the only person giving you feedback about the color, which you seem to choose to ignore, there are others too you know? What's the point of owning a fancy 1DmkII and all that nice Apple gear and present these sort of images despite a host of CSers giving some useful feedback? It's one thing to listen and learn but you still seem to maintain it's perfectly alright and choose to ignore what others are trying to tell you. I'm only voicing this out because I saw something wrong and thought you might appreciate a tip about color settings.
