Well, vitacon is genuine, but it is very very far from decent.

i was cheated by them. Tokina filter cost $16, but they sell me at $40. They also quote me price of a len after GST. when i got the reciept it was before GST. They are ****. i will get my friend from SPH to write in to FORUM.

Went to AP Funan last weekend.. I bought a UV filter for my 72mm lens... got Vitacon for $20 and a Tokina Multi coated CPL for $60 also 72mm. Do you think thats genuine price?

Im a noob when it comes to filter prices...

This will teach you a lesson.People will always check prices(call/ask from shops)before buying from a shop.No point you come here and KPKB about AP:nono:

I wouldn't say that there is no point of putting up this thread, if again highlights the issue of of the sale of vitaCON.

People can only "do homework" if such information/thread is posted up in the first place.

I have seen so many bad reviews from AP that i wouldnt even want to approach them.

Yet, complaints can be seen here frequently.... :think:

I recently bought a camera bag from them. Prior to this I had done my homework and already understand the market rate. But still I bought the bag as I was already there anyway and lazy to walk ard further although I know they are not honest, telling me its the best price already.

Despite given a price reduction after a bargain, the price is still way out market rate as their original price is jacked up. But still I chose to buy from them although I believe I can save another 20 bucks or so.

My principle is that, I have to personally verify the shop and buy something from them nonetheless. However they can be sure that it will be my 1ST and LAST time that I will patronize them...

P.S There are lots of threads on AP about bad service,kena chopped bla bla bla...So if people bothered to check on AP's background,they would have known and not buy their items from AP and then come here KPKB....

What do you think of this? I just made a trip down to Alan Photo (Funan), hoping to get some assistance when in the shop; I was as good as invisible -perhaps its their culture not to serve customers. Approached someone to enquire on products. Received SINGLE SYLLABLE answers. Few moments later, two "Ang Mos" entered, and was immediately greeted by that same person, "Hi Sir, how can i help you?"

Cos their boss is located at the SLS branch,so both branches have different service levels

while what you say is true,

i don't think it is very nice to call anyone else "dumb" and "stupid"

"careless" is a far fairer word to use in this context.
