I recently flew from San Diego to Denver and had a window seat so I decided to try using my IR converted P&S camera to see how things might come out. I was very pleased with the facinating results. I used several different ways of processing the photos. This first one of San Diego used a red/ blue channel swap plus some other color adjustments. Blur at the bottom of both of these pictures is from the jet exhaust.

A community in San Diego. Looks like a computer circuit board so I made it more golden.

From the air, land features become abstract textures.
Somewhere in Arizona:

Portion of the Grand Canyon (I only had a limited view of the Canyon). This one was converted to a color negative before processing.

Rocky Mountains- I actually made a mini-panorama with three images shot in portrait orientation.

beautiful stuff, thanks for sharing. especially like the circuit board, denver and city edges

Nice Series! The patchwork quilt one really caught my eye!

Wow! Fascinating! If I never saw the plane tip, I'd think that these images are taken off a UAV!

Heh, some of the photos look like they come from the Sim City 2 game from eons ago :D and others like google maps. Good series!

Wow, very beautiful photos :)
Looks better than Google earth! :D

very nicely taken, even more so when you know its taken from a commercial jet

very cool pictures, especially like #2, #3 and #4!

They are all amazing!

Great stuff!

Wow, they're amazingly clear and sharp!

Some of them even look like satellite photos!

they look great! very sharp!

if there is a chance i would like to try it out too! but BTW, its AERIAL not AIRIAL.

nice!
really love the 'circuit board' and grand canyon shot, while the others are no less interesting! :)

Circuit Board and portion of Grand Canyon is nice !!

Thank you everyone for the comments. I was really excited about the shots when I was taking them and enjoyed working on the post processing. I tried to do each one a little differently. I wanted a window seat for the trip home but had a middle one instead. It is fun to try infrared on different things besides the basic trees and water and sky- which are very nice too. It is just that after over a year I have done them already and want to see what else I can do. Experiment- that is what IR is all about for me. I like the unpredictability.
