me too, thinking of getting TC 1.7 to pair with this lens:)

go to this link and click on teleconverters..
http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/70200vr.htm

he claims that to use TC 1.7 on this lens is the best..
up to what individual wants cos Im thinking of using this lens becos of the fast speed and sharp image, while the TC i wanted to get a bit of the zoom distance.

that is why I need views from those who ever use a tc with this lens or any other lens. it will be a great help to know more.

thanks..:)

Bros .... wonder any shop in singapore have stock for light grey at this moment?

not sure.. did ask Cathay, MS Color, shops at penisula but all no stock! MS Color claims that in Spore got no stock at all.
But I did saw one shop at penisula shopping centre if im not mistaken sells 3 of this lens but 2nd hand. Price range from $2000-$2300. Black, no grey.. If its grey I dont mind buying it even if its 2nd hand. I would beg or steal to get the money! haha..;)

isnt it better to wait for a new piece?
after all you are already planning to go for one of the best Nikon lens. ;)
nothing beats being the first hand owner of an expensive glass!
after all, u wanna make sure afs vr mechanisms are in tiptop condition. ;p

i am sooo tempted to get the 70-200 now... hmmmm.

ei madmacs... what camera are you using? Thanks.

eh? since madmacs uses D3 (FX),
corners doesnt seems so bad wor...
since dpreview suggested that this lens has poor resolution at the corners across all focal length and apertures, hence also suggested this is more like a DX lens than a non-DX lens.
but of course unless madmacs did some cropping? :dunno:

How do you tell when most of the corners contains out of focus information? Plus at this kind of size, even images from a cheap lens would looks good. So end of the day, really depends on what you're looking out for.
