AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D

got some silly tot here.....

i just got my 50mm 1.8D (in Kuala Lumpur ;p ) and just wondering this. Since a 50mm lens is effectively a 75mm lens equavalent to a 35mm film SLR camera. What if i use a 1.4X telephoto converter? that will make it effectively 75 * 1.4 = 105mm. Does this give similar focal length compared to a 105mm lens on a 35mm film camera?

You can't mount a 50 f/1.8 on a TC. The rear elements will hit the TC's elements.

no way you can get it here (not yet)... might want to try malaysia? if can wait for another 2 weeks... MS Color might be getting new stocks by then... hopefully, coz i ordered mine.

if i'm not mistaken, all nikon lenses come with international warranty. oh, MS quoted me $170 for a warranted set.

You got it.. it's great in terms of brightness and sharpness, allowing you to avoid using flash in most circumstances, but the narrow angle makes it tough to get shots of more than just a few people.

but at wat price?? a 50mm f1.8 probably cost only a tiny fraction isit of this 28mm f1.4 right? haha..

anyway, do you have any recommendations for a good wide angle lens tat won't bore a hole in my pocket? Non-Nikon lenses / Other brands? Any good?

specs wise it looks really good and it is like $650 somemore. At least in the "affordable" range.

if price u are talking. third-party lens will be cheaper, no doubt.
