I wanted to purchase a 1GB Compact Flash card at 45X and noticed the operating temp is from 0 to 75 degree C. The 512M can take -25 degree C. Does anyone encountered problem using 1GB CF Card in cold country that temp dropped to below 0 degree?

Besides, where can I get a good price for Transcend 1GB CF Card and what is the warranty period?

Cheers

If you want a CF that works below 0 Dc, get the Sandisk Extream. Prices are quite extream too...

Why not get 2 512mb cards instead? The prices are not too different from buying a 1gb card. I often use my Sandisk Ultra II 512mb at sub zero temps with no problems.

Forgot to add that having 2 cards is always better than one. Always good to have one as a backup. That's why I use 3x512mb.

OT: Digicams generate plenty of heat, perhaps once the CF is in an operating digicam, it will get nice and toasty. :sweatsm:

Thanks to Terence, BluesJr and wacko. Terence, where did you purchase your Scandisk Ultra II and what warranty period did you get?

Sandisk Ultra II is sold at Inforcom Level 3 Funan Centre. Local warranty is only one year. Lifetime warranty by manufacturer. The other CF card - Sandisk Extreme - should be available here soon. It should be priced about 15 - 20% above the price Ultra II. :)
