I have Epson 4180. The resolution is 4800dpi over the 3200dpi of Epson 3170. No regrets! Pay a bit more and get better results!

Hi gal.... hahaha... (are you guy or gal??)

4180 have ICE one or not??? How much is this model???

My PC is so slow, I think low resolution could be better for me....

What is a HP S20???? :dunno:

And what is a Vuescan???? So I need 2 item????

HP S20 is a film scanner that also scans pics up to 5R. Vuescan is a scanning software that works with lot of scanners. You could use the original software instead of Vuescan to do the scanning.

Anyway, the HP S20's sold.

Yeah... But Vuescan can do multi-pass scanning which can improve DMAX on flatbeds.. ;)

No, 4180 does not have ICE. My co. has 4990, it's good! But it might be over your budget.

Check out the review here for 4990.

I know.... I was trying to search on what is a S20... and found nothing... I have mounted slides, and wanted to find if it can scan slides too... and I think getting accessories for it could be a problem too.......

$150 is a good price for sure...... that's why it is sold so fast.... :(

Most scanners do a single pass scan. Which means the scanner scans the negative/ slide once. A multi-pass scan is when the negative/ slide is scanned multiple times before being combined into a single image. This can yield better results but you'll need to ensure that the scanner is on a stable platform or you may have certain problems because of misalignment between scans.

do a search on www.google.com . you should be able to find the info you need.

Ok, Thanks Mpenza....

I do sucks in searching online..... but I checked.. owner say is ok to scan slides....

Thanks Firefox.....

Somebody bought the last set of the 6100F just before I went to the shop today... Looks like I got to ask my friend to help me hide one set when I'm going to go and buy one.

It's ok.. I found out that my kindergarten & pri. sch. & sec. sch. schoolmate is working at the shop.. Can always arrange for him to hide one set for me when the stock arrives...

The 6100 scanning is not that sharp. I had one almost 5 month old. Tried Neg Film & Slides and it's not acceptable to me lah...

It's good that it can scan Medium format too & have the light box on the cover. (only use that now)

Yes, I had a ScanDual II for sale now at S$250.
Hurry before it's gone!
Sure the quality is much greater because it's a dedicated film scanner. The light pass thru direct to the film unlike flatbed which have to pass thru the glass. Buy film scanner for film. Buy flatbed scanner for scan pics or doc.

If you need flatbed scanner with Film scanning you need to get the high end with have Dynamic range of at least 3.6
