advice on lenses to get for my D90

LOL... seriously not very heavy lah... just hire 2 assistants to carry for you lor.

i remember last time when i was on assignment... carry 3 X Nikon F4s bodies, 16mm fisheye, 20mm ultrawide, 28-70mm, 80-200mm, 300mm, 2 flashlight with optional batt pack, a tripod and a monopod + 30 rolls of transparencies.

How's your back now lad? Taking painkillers regularly? :bsmilie: Just kidding lah! I know everyone or most can do it... but why the torture?? :bsmilie:

Oh no... I can feel that BBB urge com'n... Resistance bro!!! *index fingers forming a cross* :bsmilie:

The voigtlander 40mm Ultron and 58mm Nokton are not that expensive u know...

But to really use that 40mm, you need a FF cam. 58mm is perfect for portraits. On your D90, it has FOV of 87mm (FF).

See the 58mm here...

Come and join la. Our background is very similar. I used to shoot film and develop them myself, print myself. The equipment has advanced but the basic principles are still the same and nothing can replace a few decades of experience. Composition (the eye/instinct) and equipment goes hand in hand, though the eye/instinct part can to a certain extent make up for a deficiency in the equipment part. BTW, i shoot with P&S too most of the time, especially on my travels.

Exactly why I'd emphasize on weight management.

Ay at first i thought you implying i am fat! LOL!:bsmilie:

Yup, for travels, unless I need the critical image quality, i'll travel light with my little P&S and 3-4 memory cards, 2 spare batteries.

Heck why is everyone so darn sensitive these days har (including moi)? :bsmilie: Must be the mushy weather!

I donno about P&S man (I'm sure they can do the same in the hands of a good photog)... Did you poison yourself with the latest copy of Landscape Photography put out by Digital SLR Photography mag? A few pages into it and I lau nua liao... ;p Feel like one day go some where really nice and freeze it out with a DSLR and UWA with filters...
