Actually, it's very safe to bring camera gears around in Siem Reap, Cambodia. People in the whole town survive on tourism for their livelihood, so they're very pro tourists.

Alternatively, go in a group. In this way, u won;t be left alone and you yr friends can look out fr each other.

Just be careful not to take transport around as pillion rider. It's a very dangerous thing to do though it's cheap. It cost abt US$6 aday vs US$15-25 by booking a sedan car. But the car will ensure great safety and more comfort. I've witness accidents when pillion drivers were flung off the bike withe passenger (tourists) getting badly injured. Weigh the risk u are taking against the money u r forking out.

Film & printing shops are easily available along the main street of Siem Reap. So, if u need to offload yr photos in a CF card int CD, it can be done. Try looking for some friendly gusethouses who provide good services, both accommodation and travel info to tourists and they're budget establishment. See www.peaceofangkor.com and look for Dave. Said u r referred by Jeffrey from Circle of Light. He'll be hosting the photo trip that COL is planning in Mar 06. Dave is a photograher too, so he knows where are the best spot for photo shoot.

If u want to join our trip instead, see our thread in www.ecircleoflight.org
