Advice on A55 purchase

MS - $1140 free 8 gb card, lowepro bag, lcd protector
CP - $1145 free 8 gb card and bag
SLR R - No stock.

That's not too much of a deal if it's the old, slower cards. and most people replace the bag first anyway.

I'd still recommend MS Color or SLR Revo. Better deals.

It is the same high speed card sony is giving (2 identical Pro HG cards). No sure if my friends paid by credit card though...:think:

Better? I can only tell you their differences.

All features same except :

A55 vs A33

16.2Mp vs 14.2Mp
10 fps burst vs 7 fps
GPS vs No GPS
Larger memory buffer in continous shooting (RAW+JPEG) 20 frames vs 7 frames
Longer battery life (EVF-330 images/LCD -380 images) vs (EVF-270 images/LCD -340 images)

Anyway there's no "better" camera between these two. Buy based on which feature you require, ie, if you don't need GPS, higher megapixel, faster fps in burst mode, larger memory buffer, longer battery life then get the A33 for less $$$.

Buy either one.

You should rather buy better lens. The Sony CZ 16-35mm + CZ 24-70mm + SAL 70-200mm lenses if you want better lens than the 18-55mm + 55-200mm lenses. :devil:

Better still get the prime lenses CZ 24mm f2.0, SAL 35mm f1.4 G, CZ 85mm f1.4 and CZ 135mm f1.8 if you want better lenses. :devil::sweat:

Best place to get the A55 new is at Harvey Norman (suntec). Two of my friends just bought the A55 18-55 kit @ $1214 with free bag, 2 x 8GB MS Pro-HG Duo and screen proctector.

Maybe MS Color's and SLR Rev's price are slightly cheaper..

Anyway A33 / A55 video recording has the best Continous autofocus in the DSLR/DSLT market to date.

they did it with SSS on thats why it only last 8 mins :sticktong and they missed the most crucial point - AutoFocus !
