Advice on A55 purchase

Beside lens, filter, tripod, dry cabinet.any other things i have to purchase?

More battery...the A55 battery life is bad. I have 1 x original and 3 x third party batteries.

Also get the wireless remote and cable shutter release. Should cost less than S$5 each on ebay.

Then you should say that those stores which give away all those useless free gifts have no stock. Otherwise it gives other people reading this post the wrong impression that the A55 is completely sold out in Singapore ie got money also cannot buy.

For me, only the bag and SD card are of any value. The other so-called free gifts I would actually throw away or give away. Waste space to keep them even.

actually what type of free gifts u r looking for?

when i got mine from MSC, the free gifts is memory card, lowerpro bag and screen protector. SLR give the same gifts but without the screen protector. same goes for CP and parasilk.
So i think the bag and memory card is the standard gift.
The price they quoted, difference of $25. $1199 - $1224
BD/HN/court sell at RRP.

IMO the important factor is the price, dont u think so..?

but if u die die want extra free gifts, the best bet is to buy during computer show.. u can try ur luck by showing the promotional flyers to the camera shop if they can match the free gifts.

Only draw back is I miss out on the training workshops and addtional warranty as I only get TOURIST warranty.;p

Cash price is slightly below $1.2k but I bought a few other things (OEM battery, filter) and took the CC installment plan so about $1345 in all. Price is one thing, service is top notch. I don't know about cameras but electronics shop you go ask prices, etc machiam you owe them a living.. Therefore I don't mind pay a bit more for service really, plus I called a few places no stock and buay tahan the wait liao.. Haha!

The guy from eBay link above smsed me say may have stock coming in tomorrow, those keen maybe want to contact him..

yeah techically you must and even though you declare them I think they wont tax you anything specially if you only brining in one or minimum allowed. Or what they say personal use items.
