YongNuo Nomad tripod A169? great option bro.. =) i just bought one few weeks ago..
With your kind approval, pse pm me your reviews on this Nomad tripod. Thanks in advance!

imho getting a good and light tripod is important. save up for it. getting a heavy one and you wont really use it unless its for studio. =)
Couldn't agree more, that's why my 2+kg vintage Velbon is almost domesticated!

no problem bro.. glad to be at help anyway.... ^,^

get a gitzo, once and for all.

IMO, get the manfrotto.... I am using the 190XPROB with a 488RC2 head (Overkill).... 486RC2shld be fine....

Good stuff.

can i check if u guys register the warranty for manfrotto tripod. saw the instruction manual stated as 2 years warranty

to each his own. Try them out and see which one you like best.

For me, i went for strong yet cheap option so not recommended if cannot handle the weight.

here is mine review of made in japan slik u212. http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4656772

Its size compared to everyday type of tripod.

Its flexibility and all rounded-ness.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPdl4o1LrsM video i made on the u212 features and functions.

wow looks like a great tripod.. $125 with just the tripod.. please ignore my innocent comment, but it really look like not that nice.. =) well i know what really matters is whether it functions~ haha..

Gitai is good.. do compare the slik u212 with gitai y560..
there is a great review by a bro in cs.. http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433241

anyway just to sum up really fast..
gitai y560 (which can be purchased here)
- one price comes with
~ padded tripod bag
~ standard ballhead holds 4kg
~ very tall, tripod stands to 1.7m
~ goes low as well, just 20cm from ground..

and the cost of it is just $5 more from the slik u212.. at only $130.. i personally feel that its a better bargain.. how about you people? those tripod seekers?

see what they need lah. but you have the points right.

~The U212 too big and the legs pretty thick for a padded tripod bag, more comfortable to carry like rifle.
~Comes with pan and tilt that can withstand my weight. The head works for panning video as well.
~Fully extended with center column, the U212 full height is not for everybody.
~Any lower and it would kiss the ground.

and one more point if i may add.
~I notice that fully deployed, people tend to stay away in case the tripod may drop on them. It looks quite dangerous which is a by product of its hardy design i suppose. I guess it must have been typical of past made in japan tripods. Want cheap yet strong, have to make compromises here and there lah especially the weight in this case.
