HIee Minolta friends....

Here is one photo taken over the weekend.......its a hand held saw-aim-bang!!! kinda shot......not time to set tripod etc.....

The 5600HS(D) is used here.....the A1 is set to macro at AF. Aimed directly at bee's head. Hmm....very happy with the exposure.

Catch light on the bee's eye was probably made possible by the ADI lighting control.

Regards,
Sulhan

Good shot man! Your hands are damn stable to have such a sharp image with no tripod! No wonder you are pro! :bsmilie:

Err... how close were you from the bee huh? :dunno:

Hiee Cheat,

The distance is about 15cm++........ the flash head is at head down -10 degrees position (macro position).

The flash did give a better balance though......

Extra weight gives better balance? Err... you're weird! :bsmilie:

Anyway, great shot! Love the way the bee's eyes lighted up. Can almost feel that it's gleeing with delight! :bsmilie:

 Very Cool!

Great shot, Sulhan!

Did the bee fell off or bang again the flower after you flashed its eyes ??

:D

Haha~! Then it's too bad that Sulhan didn't shoot multiple frames to see the reaction of the bee after the shot... :)

wah nice shot man

Hi Sulhan,
Can share the basic technique with me? Like, the shutter speed, aperture and the flash setting?
I am almost always having bad shot with flash on. :(
Especially with external flash on.

BTW ... I am using A1 + 3600 flash

Thanks a bunch!!!!!!

Hi,

Extra weight gives your camera better stability even if it's handheld. If you have a big lens, vertical grip and flash helps to balance the camera's cg.

Go to Minolta's showroom and pick up the Dynax 9 with 8-200 2.8. Feel the weight. Then maybe you wanna switch it to manual focus and continous drive and fire away. ;)

Cheers!

The macro position is -10 or -7 degrees? I can't quite remember but I think it's -7 degrees? Anyway small point only but it's a great shot!
