Which palmtop are u using? Tested on a Clie? :D Looks darn interesting, right now am looking like an idiot setting timer and letting it flash with everybody looking at me seeing who am I shooting. :embrass:

Think mine will cost more then $50 cos my clie serial sync cable is not that cheap, and provided I can find a serial sync one. :bsmilie:

I'm using a J568. Had a hard time searching for my serial sync cable too.. till i found this shop. try Kenar services, They had to specially order from overseas for me. I think they will have the lobang to get it for you. still i think it would be best if you call them up and ask them if they have the cable or if they are able to get for you.

alternatively, you can ask those ppl at SPUG.

I cant really think of many ocassions where i will use the remote to shoot other than night shots. personally i dun think it justifies spending 150+ for the MC-EU1 when i dun really use it that often.

cheerz

tangoninazero - welcome!
Anyway a new one's pretty cheap so why not just spend a few dollars more loh.

hobbes - you forgot to mention an additional few hundred bucks for those without a pda to get one....

fella: well you can try SPUG forums. if you want to get it for juz the remote and simple PDA, then juz look for some old palm models lor.. there were some old models like palm V going for less than 100. shop around. for these old models it is easier to find the serial sync cable at simlim..
sometimes they are less than $10.

overall, i think would be useful only if you already have a PDA or intend to get a PDA. If you don't really use a PDA, then i guess it would be better to get the MC-EU1

Shucks, I just sold off my PalmIIIc on SPUG, else I can sell it about $500 to fella? :bsmilie:

If you don't have a PDA, don't bother, get the remote directly, cheaper.

Hi bro,

I am interested in the 52mm adaptor, can place order for me. Will deposit your a/c first. I 've got the UR-E8, the TC and WC, u might wanna try after receiving the adaptor.

yo fella,

i've decided to do it with the UR-E8 and bernies 72mm adaptor, but need a final estimate on prices. how much did u get that bernie's adaptor for? and how long did it take to arrive from when u ordered?

i contemplated using that "2 piece" 49mm (or was it 52mm?) adaptor available locally, but thot it'd be leychey to screw the second piece on if i wanna zoom, and take it off when i want it wide.

then can u, or anyone gimme a rough estimate on how much a UV filter and a polariser (72 mm) is gonna cost? i'd probably be going for the "cheap" end of stuff.

thanx heaps man!~

oh and so i am definitely gonna get the UR-E8 from u!

aiyah actually why dun i just PM u. duhzz

I wanna try also :D heehee.

Actually, since you've the TC-E15D and WC-E80, I'd suggest you go for the UR-E8 to 72mm adapter instead.

All you need is just to remove the adaptor when you want to use your TC and WC, removing the snap on adaptor and putting it back when in use can be quite a headache.

Just my 0.02c.

hi koolman,

i assume u need someone to place order using paypal, but unfortunately like u, i also dun have a paypal account, had to "lompang" somebody, so sorry can't help u.
:(

hey guys..
for the 52mm adapter, you don't have to order then overseas. only the bernie adapters.
they are available locally.. try AP.
quote bout $30~33.
fella and tangoninazero bought them at AP.
try getting an Equote first.

do note that there will be vignetting if you use the tele part of the adapter. if u are juz using the wide angle part, there will not be any vignetting, but you cannot zoom when you are using filter
coz the camera lens will be obstructed by the filter.

hey hobbes, i've seen the one that fella uses, the "2 piece" one rite?

when u use wide, u use one piece (so no vignetting), when u use zoom u use both piece (longer - so the lens won't touch the filter)

this is AFIAK... prob fella can verify this since he uses it.

IMO, i would find it quite leh chey to be screwing on and off when u zoom and wide (sorree for the bad english!!) :embrass: :bsmilie:

Huh? AP sells the 52mm ones?

koolman - I'll be glad to help. Actually I recommend the 46mm adapter if you just wanna fix a uv filter.
You just gotta file your ur-e8 a bit.
You actually got the original WC?? At 0.8, useful meh?!
I find it not worth the S$200+...

hobbes - I got the 52mm from the peninsular store @ S$35 after getting your sms and arguing with the man... too lazy to go AP. ;p

joho - I'll be using the WA part only so I can use my Sony flower hood, so not really troublesome loh.

jOhO:: yup, the 52mm is the one with 2 pieces. I am using it also. you are right bout the 1 piece for wide, 2 pieces for tele thingy.

it is abit ley chey like you say, so i am using the UR-E8 and bernie combo. but will be keeping it for close ups filters (52mm cheaper then 72mm) and a possible raynox 0.66 wide angle (52mm thread)

espn:
yup, AP has them. think they charge regulars cheaper..
tangoninazero got it at $33, while fella got it at $30 i think.

dunno if this is OT or not, but i'm wondering if there's a way to use a TC lens on the 5700 but not the nikon one?

like stick on the ure8 get a bernies ure8 adaptor (52mm?) and screw a TC on?

reason i ask is so that i don't have to buy the 5700 part that can ONLY be used for 5700, becos easier to sell, can use for other lens (when/if i upgrade to dSLR) etc etc...

There's no bernie's ur-e8 to 52 but there's a bernie's ur-e8 to 55mm for your purpose.
It's specially meant for the Olympus B300, which is a superb TC but only available (if you can find it) locally, 2nd hand.

hey saw that u're selling ur TC15? getting the olympus wat-it's-name... :bsmilie:

wat's that? and the b300, wat's that too? a TC that can screw into 55mm?

Olympus B300, no more in production...
Olympus T-con17, replacement for B300.
Both are 55mm threaded.
