hi guys.

i'd like to drop a question or two about copyrighted music.

how high are the chances of the record companies allowing a filmmaker to use songs for an entirely non-profit and non-commercial short film?

i'm looking to do something Miami Vice-esque in the coming months, and those who have seen the series/movie will defi. know that songs are an important part of the overall production.

hope i can get a quick reply asap! :D

The chances are very high if you are willing to pay for it. If not, the chances are very low :P

suggest that u buy some royalty free music. lotsa great ones out there at about USD30-60 per song

You can also check out the Creative Commons. Their terms are definitely much more flexible.

thanks for the tips guys!

chances are low for you to use it. But it will benefit if you're a student. And the time they will get back to you maybe months so i suggest you use a free copyright music..
