Abt new flash brand and technology - Cononmark?

Hi guys. I did some research online about these flashes and found that the phottix PPL-400 just released by reddotphotography is actually the rebranded DL 4.0.

However, anyone have any idea whether the flash in the link posted by george671 about the NID500 is in singapore or can be ordered?

Also, is there a speedring for elinchrom to *** mount of the cononmark/phottix mount?

it available at manda lv4 at penisula and excelsior shopping centre next to funan. the ED500 diisgnation is for the europe market. for the asia market it supposely knw as the nid50

anyone have experience using the Cononmark DL 4.0 or the 500W version with Bowens mount modifiers like beauty dish and umbrella or softboxes? any issues ?



I'm asking because i read this:

..I did have a sample of the Bowens mount adapter to work with. While it does allow the mounting of “S” type accessories, it does indeed create a serious tunnel effect. With modifiers like beauty dishes this was not an issue. However, pronounced hotspotting was seen when the Bowens adapter was used to mount softboxes/octaboxes. Cononmk did provide their native Comet mount speed ring but this proved unusable as the rod holes drilled in the rings perimeter were only 1/8-inch in diameter and unable to accept standard softbox rod ends..
