That was the one that richard used during the Sony Alpha Anniversary right? Feel like buying 2 sets of that. ;p tempting
i see... tks so much ..
i cannot see the picture.. it says connecting to server.. i will try tmr..
i just found out that Allien Bees is also selling a lightweight battery pack... not sure if it can be use to power lights from other brands ... allien bees mount seems to be proprietary ..
yap .. alienbees new portable battery pack, vagabond mini lithium
imo it should be able to power all strobes, analog type preferably
whether the mount is proprietary or not, u just need to get the speedring the rest of the modifers are pretty standard
i might be getting them soon

oh.. from what i read on AB web, their portable batt only outputs 110v if i am not wrong..
The AB mini lithium inverter pack do come in 220-240V specs. I am also interested in getting two of them, but the problem is that these are way way backorder and AB don't ship outside States, and their reseller in Australia (to serve Aus/asia mkt) don't carry it yet, even if they do, they will levy a hefty premium on it....
So anyone has any friends who is in the States that can help order this AB lithium pack?? ;p
yes, i find the shipping fees etc make the price not very attractive... sigh...
jin bei will come out with Discovery... i will wait for that first...
You might want to reconsider when you see the weight of the new packs as they are heavier than the RD series. Quite a put off.

There was a review at strobist previously http://strobist.blogspot.com/2010/04/test-drive-mystery-meat-400ws-chinese.html
The short flash duration and multi fps does look interesting.
There's an adapter to switch it to Bowens mount and so you'll have access to all Bowen's mount stuff.
My understanding of the strobist review seems to point that the flash duration is long and unable to pulse completely at full power in anything faster than 1/60. Am i reading it wrong?
If this article is correct, then does it not mean that the full power potential cannot be enjoyed at high shutter sync speeds?

hi
for action stopping, we need to refer to the specs.. the item to look for is t.1 . i read an article that said u can 3 x t.5 to get t.1. The t.1 is like the shutter speed. But i'm not sure if the ambient light will affect, i never own any big strobe.. just those small tiny flashes... but u can see in http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6805551&postcount=42 the action stopping done in bright daylight

You can check out my Modelmayhem Account's Main page also - the link is here
Quite happy with the practical performance of the equipment... The last photo displayed in this post is done with a combination of a CN-126 video light combined with the DL4.0 in normal configuration (but with a blue gel).
