Rmb 17575
assuming sgd 1 dollar = rmb 5 dollar
the selling price is abt SGD$3515

wow!!!

do u think they will sell at this price in sg?

Yes...mabbe one yr after it launch in singapore :bheart:

haha....by then hopefully a 12MP FF comes out.... i think it will prb have better noise control.... and with a LV:lovegrin: that is sufficient for me.....

saw this babe selling at CP for $4199 nett ;)

wah, nikon D700 is only $3550....

Ok, just collected my A900 yesterday which I ordered a year ago.
Body with vertical grip at S$4,550.00

The unit feels really solid, robust, & really reminds me of the old Nikon F4 film SLR, but not as hefty as the Nikon F4. I like how it looks Traditional, and its Intelligent Preview function.

24.5Mp means a requirement of at least an 8gb CF for only 216 RAW pics. For a paid or any kind of presonal project shoot, I'd say to be safer with a 16Gb CF.

Damn thing flies in continuous - 5 frames in a blink! And ALL my old film SLR lenses works as they should with FF, yielding full focal lengths! Wonderful! But lenses marked DG, requires that APS-C in menu to be turned ON. Otherwise, you get vignettes like a tunnel vision!

Very pleased with price, and performamce in just a little over 12 hours after purchase collect of my A900.

Speaking of its price; I think if the gobal economy isn't the way it is currently, it could have been pricier. I feel that S$4,199 (or there abouts) is reasonable for the kind of quality, feature, performance, and SONY's longstanding standards in tech advancements. But I cannot say the same for their lenses - they are OVERPRICED!

I am eyeing the SONY 85mm f1.4 which initially was tagged at S$2,599. Now its only S$1,999.00! very tempting...!
Sony's new flash is also very tempting at a little over S$600.

honestly, now that (insert country) currencies are going down... perhaps we can do MO from there? haha

Will probably get the A900 one year from now ......... from CSers...... not in a hurry ........... :bsmilie:

comparing to D700 is not the right level.
you should compare to 1Ds MK3.
it's perform very closely.

Hahaha.. the problem with me is, I'm mostly tied down with work and I really don't know when I will be able to go out with this new A900 I ordered a year ago and really try it out. Tested a few shots at home, and that was it. It feels really GREAT, pics are just so chocked full of details & color, super fast in continuous.. .now I'm going to have to pick up the flash.

Any opinions on the HVL-F58AM? Or is the old one better (exact design as Minolta's HS5600)?

Would appreciate yours or anyone's input on this.

New HVL-F58AM is more user friendly on tilting head for bounce.

Ok, here's a little feedback on the A900's batt consumption;
NOT very good, this monster drains battery faster than A700. Likely because of large sensor & power to drive a large mirror as well. Looks like a vertical grip is indispensable for its double battery compartment, and, you'd need at least TWO pairs of battery - one pair in use, another pair standby in shooting events.

From a 100% charge, after shooting several shots in FF mode (APS-C off), it dropped down to 96%! I believe it will drain even faster when you do night shoots; long shutter times, longer sensor exposure time will really sap your batteries.

This is like driving an WRX car... powerful & fast, but guzzles fuel!

Sony should IMPROVE on their batteries for such DSLRs.. :thumbsd:
