Maybe sony is launching a Pro body , to compete with 1d , d3x range . They have said they don't consider a900 their pro body. This is more plausible.

Well, you do understand that a Nikon ISO 3200 pic is actually at about 2600 ISO, right? :P

But I do agree, Nikon's JPEG engine is quite good. Let's hope Sony releases a v4-like update to the A900 soon.

It really doesn't matter if it's ISO2600 or ISO3200... these are just numbers... the most important thing is that at that level of exposure required, can the sensor deliver a noise-free image? So if the SONY requires 1/10 s f/8 at ISO3200 and the Nikon sensor can give 1/10 s f/8 at ISO2600, and the exposure of the image is the same, that's fine... I really don't care if Nikon cooks their ISO numbers cos they're obviously having a superior sensor design that can deliver more sensitivity at reduced noise levels... that's the bottomline really...

No, they perform a tonal shift on the RAW. Everyone slammed Sony for cooking the RAWs, but with Nikon it's ok?

Have you seen the comparison? The Nikon needed a high +EV adjustment.

eh... okok... dun start the iso war thingy again can? peace..... ;)

Actually it's also not important if after the EV adjustment, the image exposure is the same and the noise level is still much better... as for the RAW adjustment, it's just stupid to expect that there are no manipulations on chip... everyone cooks the RAW file... there's no such thing as a truly RAW file.... it can't be just a literal dump of the sensor... so I'm not too bothered about so-called cooked RAW... basically as long as the image is a good representation of the actual scene, has good colour, tonality, noise-free... they can what they like to RAW...

now, in this 21st century, there is no such thing as a close similar standards liao.... everyone is doing whatever they can to get the best out of it... so its still up to the consumer choice....
so.... now lets just hope sony comes out with a good firmware ;)

wah! really hope to see it soon
