I plan to get whole sets of lense.. powershot A80 lense adapter, telephoto lense and wide angle lense...how's the price difference compared to original Canon accesories.. FYI canon powershot A70 lense adapter is totally different from A80 eventhough the diameter is the same due to focus length of A80 and A70 are different. Anyway anyone have any idea on other third party lense adapter, telephoto lense and wide angle lense selling cheap or reasonable cheap with quality in singapore? please PM me... how about those shop in orchard road? izzit cheap?...I am dying to get those lense..jus the original Canon is too expensive.. looking for third party quality lense.! ;)

cheers all! :)
Original one from Canon, LADC-52C costs $35 while compatible one costs about $25/-. Both are for 52mm mount. With the original adapter, you must first mount a lens filter before you put on the conversion lens, to avoid the camera lens hitting the conversion lens because the conversion lens' thread is too deep. Both are available at SLS. Best to bring your camera to test fit.

yup this is true, digicam normally has more depth of field (though don't ask me why.. some arcane relationship dealing with the smaller sensor size or something). Experts? :D

so does adding a tele lens possible to have less depth of field ? Object in focus and background out of focus ??

Hi Guys, I used to have a A80 but upgraded, so selling off my 37mm 0.45X Wide Angle+Macro and 2X Telephoto Convertor lens. No vignette, glasses are clean and clear. Store in dry box.

These are not the cheap Cokin or Kenko 2 lens pack kind, each lens cost my $80++

Check it out, PM me if interested.

I suppose A85 also can used these lens right? :dunno:

I used to own a A40 & A80, as long as your A series camera have a bayonet mount to mount a ext tube, you can get 37mm or 52mm screw-mount lens to put on it. I personally recommend 37mm because the lenses are small, so your compact camera is still a compact camera. 52mm screw-mount lenses are really huge for A series, make your camera heavy and not so compact anymore.

Regarding the DOF thingy, a 2X tele will do, it'll give you about 200mm tele, pretty standard tele range. You don't want to stand 100m away from you subject to shoot unless you shoot birds and animals, 3X will be good.

THat's all I know, hope this helps.

it does produces a bit of vignetting when u first connect the lens.
u have to zoom a bit first. same for both wide n tele.

so any other place to buy third party a80 adapter tubes except konata? i hope to get 1 for at most $25, please help me, thanks.
