A7s rumor

No hybrid AF. Improved PDAF up to -4EV.

Press release seems to say improved cdaf over a7r

"As already proven on the α7R, high-speed, high-precision Fast Intelligent AF has been further improved to fully exploit the new camera’s extraordinary low-light performance as low as EV-4"

When I read the ISO capabilities, I was secretly hoping for better AF so I can use it for indoors events shooting. But it is not meant to be :)

Well -4 EV shld be good at at least AF acquisition in low light. Tracking capability not too sure

Oh ya, should be CDAF. embrass.

What is A7r AF sensitivity? 0 EV? From 0 EV to -4 EV (A7s) is a lot of improvement.
For comparison,
6D -3EV
5DM3 -2EV

no need embarresed bro hehe...

think half of us here were hoping it will come with the a6000 PDAF. perhaps sony is holding out on a A7SA. SA for Super AF.

yea the low light sensitivity of the AF mechanism looks promising, better than 6D which i used to have. shld be great for low light AF aquisition, but tracking not too sure. Even the 6D with PDAF doesnt track too well at night kekeke

Hehe...thanks.
If 6D with PDAF doesn't track well, inherently A7s CDAF should not be any better....
Waiting for the review...
Hope to see battle of low light monsters soon. Hehe.

I like your A7sa, super AF. Keke.

This seems like an awesome camera but I am hoping for a good A mount APSC camera... So many E mount cameras :( Are they killing A mount... I dont like using adapters... Have a A57 now but loads of A mount lenses. Would have bought the A99 if I needed it full frame

A77 II is coming.

if somebody can answer my curiousity... how come continuous shooting fps is not mentioned in the specs?

Has. In Sony web.
Fps is same with A7, slightly better than A7r.

For A7/ A7s
Continuous shooting max 2.5fps
Speed priority continuous shooting max 5fps.

For A7r
Continuous shooting max 1.5fps
Speed priority continuous shooting max 4fps.

Quite excited about the high ISO low noise performance!

Ok , spec wise I'm really impressed

Impressive specs. Wondering how fast is the fps, couldn't find the info in the link or probably I missed it.

Totally agree. Would love to find out more about the stills performance and check out the sample images. This camera is no joke.

This is a pure videographer's dream camera i believe..not a still or sport photographer.
Small, FF, 4K, high ISO monster for video...fantastic.

Slow FPS, no Hybrid AF, 12mp, Not a good stills camera. Yes, unless you like to shoot in dark places at high iso...on normal days in good light, this isn't a good camera. Can't even use for sports since it most likely won't track well and the FPS is too slow. The a6k is way better for that..

There are some image samples there..particularly the one at ISO800 with the FE55 lens...i was not impressed with that sample at all..so i still think this was made purely for videographers who occasionally dabble in stills
