A7s mark 2 !!!@

Erm.
The A7S ii. Does not have Phase Detection.
Take a look at the A7rii instead.

Without pdaf, how's the AF performance (tracking kids running around) when shooting video ?

if you just want to shoot your kids running around, buy a RX10II.

yea a small sensor camera is better as it is harder for FF cameras to have super accurate tracking at near distances due to the thin DOF, especially when you use fast lenses wide open to freeze motion.

The A7R2 can track with its 399 PDAF points, but it does better tracking at longer distances compared to tracking at nearer to MFD as a slight movement needs a large movement of the lens element to follow focus.

A7S2 without PDAF will be even harder. one shot AF shld be good though.

I've a RX100m4 which current does the job, but I do struggle to get a good focus lock if the subject moves. (Not even talking bout mad high on sugar kids running around. Just normal walking around) My current best video gear is my iphone 6 ! Or just manual focus with focus peaking.

Thank you on the point about tracking better at long distance vs nearer to MFD. (Since the video will be very much within 2-3 meters) Time to head to the sony store to do more testing.

Hehe actually i prefer the M mount because we can use close focus adaptors!

I was hoping that since the E-mount CV doesn't have the limits of a rangefinder focusing, they would be able to focus closer !

Not for wide angle!! :D

I'd prefer using m mount version coupled to a close focus adaptor as well!

But the e mount version has electronics to record the lens information!!!

Hopefully the 12mm is a slightly improved design to improve the IQ

Funny that sony SG selling A7sii ex than A7rii

Congrats to those that bot the A7S II.

I managed to see the thing at the revealing.... poisonious sia...

anyone bought A7S2? any feedback?
why do they price it higher than A7R2 here?
is it due to higher demand here in Singapore compared with other countries? *clueless*

does the dynamic range only better in video due to S-log3? how about for still?
anyone has any idea?

Why do you want to use log for still.....u have uncompressed raw option.
Log is just a smart way to compress.

No, what i mean is that, i heard a7s2 has wide dynamic range but does it only apply for video? How about for still?

I know it's just on paper but if you look at dxomark score of a7s (heard that a7s2 using same sensor), it has lower score compared to a7 in terms of dynamic range. How true is this? Is that really significantly different?

I am wondering if worth to buy a7s2 looking at the price difference is quite big.
