Some time ago, someone told me it is not possible to give the a7 series the capability of having uncompressed raw files through firmware update. Also, Sony will not and have no plans on doing that... And Sony gave us good news.

updated.. raw file size doubled. LR has not problem reading it, and it seems rendering a bit faster than the compressed one...

thanks man! was thinking whether to update or not..but i hav a shoot coming on next week..guess i better use the current one first..dont want to have any suprise during the shoot hahaha..

i don't like the new file size...i'll most likely stick with compressed which is good enough as it is..
I guess maybe when shooting landscapes will you enable the uncompressed..at most time, i'll leave it compressed

One stupid thing is Sony didnt put the option available in FN selection. Have to dig into the full menu for the option.

yea file size is huge..don hv to use this if shooting hundreds of photos for event..but for those landscape/prewed when we don shoot tht much..i guess its fine..anyway its good to hv..at least we hv a choice

Adobe issued a statement that you need Camera Raw 9.2 or Lightroom 2015.2/6.2

That is a version released about 2 weeks back thatadded support for a7s II, which should be using the same uncompressed format as a7RII.

and the problem with this guy is that he is not using the latest firmware metabones.... I have watched the video, he thinks he has the latest firmware as he says he bought version 4 and is using it straight out of the box, but doesn't know there has been several firmware updates since v4 was shipped out....

this canonwatch.com is a questionable page as well. now that there is nothing good to say about canon products being out innovated and out shined by other manufacturers, they start spreading false rumours and bad reviews of its competitors.

Actually yes. Look at the lenses in my signature. All these canon and sigma lenses af very well and fast on my a7r2 and metabones iv.

Thanks. Do you think it would be good enough for you to leave behind your 5D3 and just use the A7RII?

I've sold my 5d3 after 2 weeks of using the a7r2 . Yes the af is that good. Some lenses af feels even faster than the 5d3

Some but not all and unfortunately, the one lens i wanted to be good wasn't that great..the 2470ii...it works, it AF decently, but it also hunts at times and it's no where near as fast as native FE lenses so..i was a little disappointed..but definitely useable...but primes like the 50L and 85L works fantastic!

Does anyone knows how to turn on Lens Compensation only for Video?
I mean if I don't want to go to deep menu to turn on before video shooting and turn off before photo shooting.
It seems that the memory function doesn't remember the lens compensation settings.

It would be very kind of you if you can tell me how to program the settings for the memory mode... I have tried many times but couldn't get it to save. The settings change every time I switch the mode to something else then switch back to memory mode.
