just gotten the 17mm vivitar its so-so compare to Leica 21mm F4 and had heavy vignetting on the upper corners plus the lens I got no hood... the problem could be my cheapo OM-NEX adaptor....

Probably not the adapter, bro! ;p I can think of only 3 other lenses that are in the same league with the Schneider 21. Almost every ultrawide has a few "but…"'s.

Zeiss 21mm f/2.8 which is spectacular even wide open (ZF and ZE versions, + an older CY version, I think)
V.1 and V.2 of the Leica 19mm f/2.8 Elmarit-R.
bro Albertri's 21mm f/4, which was actually manufactured by Schneider-Kreuznach.

for A7 and A7r wide I think its best to get SLR lenses to avoid the magenta cast...

I guess I have to stop hunting for wide lenses unless I'll be getting the 19mm Elmarit or the Ziess wide lenses...
