PART I - PICTORIAL USERVIEW OF THE POWERSHOT A700
Here are some pics taken with the Powershot A700 which was released in Feb 2006.
If u're a fan of Compacts using AA batts, SD cards, manual controls, longer zoom range,
then this is it. It would have been lovely if Canon had IS included, but then the
price would be 'lovely' too.

Anyhow, with full manual controls, 6x zoom, and for this price (around S$510 nett)
this PNS is quite a 'gem'...and not forgetting that it's got an optical viewfinder!!!

If u're interested in how the A700 performs with ISO400 and ISO800, then scroll
down.

All Powershot A700 users are welcome to post their pics here. :D

Any building shot by u last time!

Buildings? - of course, will post one later. Whatz u looking for?

Noticed that u were interested in this A700, did u buy finally?
IMO, it's quite a handy compact and a 'joy' to use...the 6x is
a deciding factor, plus the AA batts, SD/MMC card formula.
Though image wise, F30 beats it hands down.

nice shots, the typical Canon-ish colours that 1 would expect. Canon has come a long way since their powershot series of A40 etc.

would like to see how this model performs under night conditions, indoor shot at perferably higher ISO levels eg. 400?

#18 and #20 can be considered as "indoor" shots - one is ISO400, the other ISO800.

Under low lightings the A700 gets rather noisy ...best performance would be as in #20.

#20 is literally an indoor shot - at least technically one - taken under normal home flourescent lighting at night - close-up shot using macro-mode and handheld.

erm, think you misinterpret me there, was trying to mean a photo taken indoors at night.
hope that clarify everything.
