haven (got the time to) update the firmware to v4...

But anyway so whats the verdict? v4 might cause flash exposure during bouncing flash to go haywire? But master reset can solve the problem?

the flash going haywire is more of dirty contacts.. if you encounter such problems clean the contacts & u'll be fine

Just updated mine, with ISO NR set to off, you can really tell the difference compared to photos with low NR. Great job Sony!

Bros, something I don't quite understand. Isn't NR supposed to reduce the noise level in the pics? Why is it that everyone wants it to be turned off?

I've also upgraded to v4 and noticed the pics turn out much better with NR off. But I don't understand this logic. Can someone provide a more technical explanation to this?

NR tries to reduce visible noise, but a side effect is that you lose detail as well. By switching off NR, you get the "real" noise, which tends to be very fine grain easily cleaned up in PP, while retaining the detail.

any known issue with V4? i am paranoid....my samsung omnia got problem after patching...............

I initially had problems with overblown flash exposures. Then after a master re-set, no problems. Used it to shoot two full-day AD weddings, lots of flash at night, total 2000++ shots, no fault whatsoever with the camera.

Hey bro, may I just ask how you did the Master Reset? Just use the menu option? or have other method?

It is thru menu system. Off-hand I cannot remember exactly which menu section - there are a few "reset" options. Anything that gives me the option to reset, I reset.

However, some people report of a persistent yellow flash exposure. This problem, I think must send to Sony Service Centre already.
