A70 for sale in sg auction

now u can go get the A70. won't regret it after u see the video capability of this camera. All u need is housing , camera, red filter and clear waters.

Actually Eric, you will be horrified to know that I DID NOT realise that the video mode has a custom white balance until day 3 of the trip. ;p Anyway, had no slate and was setting the custom white balance wrongly cos i didn;t read the manual until i came home. Moral of the story - read the manual from cover to cover haah.

Siaoon, sure can lend you, no prob. You shld have told me earlier cos i just met B for lunch today. I cld have passed her a copy.

For those looking for a digicam as a cheap alternative to a videocam, do check that the digicam has vga video at at least 15fps (30 fps much better), and preferably does NOT use mpeg codec (v pixelated looking). Oly & Canon use m-jpeg (motion jpeg) codec for their video modes - less compression and larger file size but looks better.

As mentioned, u have to come to one of the gatherings. Kng made great videos with a puny A70 and we have viewings during such gathering. u can see videos on Bali, Sangalaki and Maldives shot on the A70 and the output to TV isn't that bad at all. sadly he does not host his videos online so gathering is the only chance to see it.

Maybe I should sell my C-5050 and stuff and get the A70 for wife instead. then i don't have to teach her strobe lighting, strobe placement, camera settings, composition, and photoshop!

Errr... how to host online when the videos are 3GB after mpeg2 compression? A 5 min video clip is about 300mb....

oly video mode has manual white balance as well. but i dun think mine is mpeg leh ... the quality of the video is not good anyway ..

I'm a very very fresh beginner and just had my first go at U/w photography at Sidapan recently. So, am very very new to Clubsnap. Hence, gatherings and stuff will seem too bold for me at the mo. I'm just a baby learning to make her first crawl. And you guys, are all grown ups. If you see the shots I did, you'll be rolling on the floor.

Gathering is the place to see those great videos.
So, if you don't go, you'll miss out on that.

Quite lucky that you managed to find a A60, I rarely see them on sale.
But if you gonna get another one yourself, go for the A75/85/95, they
have bigger screen which is gonna useful underwater (and above as well).

Everyone would start off as beginners in CS. was like u too, very apprehensive about meeting people i didn't know but took ten shots of vodka and attended one of their meetings. don't konw why i did that (i actually brought along some trash pics for them to view) but i didn't regret meeting them. now they can't get rid of me. hhaha...

oh and they (and we) are a very kind bunch of people. many hamsom guys too!!! :devil: :devil:

Aiyah...so pissed off. The guy (marcus70) who agreed to sell it to me and deal on fri, sms me last night to say that he sold it someone else. He didn't even inform me beforehand. It was already an agreement!! I guess some people are just not man of their word loh.

well, he has the courtesy to sms before fri. some don't even turn up.

I guess u can't blame him really becos there will be instances whereby buyers turn down the sale on seeing the goods for whatever reason. I guess in buying second hand stuff, sale always subjects to inspection for buyer protection so seller also has right to abort sale.

U can get yr friend the A70 and borrow again. hahahahha
