A6000

Hi everyone, can someone advise which firmware I can use to update my A6000 fw to better work with my 1670Z. Thanks!
there isn't a newer firmware...the only one is the one that came with the camera..no new update. that one already works well with the 1670z according to others..

I stand corrected, PDAF support is only avail on AF-C.

Camera & lens versions are 1.00 & .01 respectively. Is that correct for everyone else?

Not so sure about that. It might just appear to be the case when looking at the live view feed.

Yes, that is correct.Although the jumping squares only work with AF-C or AF-A..no one know for sure if AF-S has PDAF or just CDAF. Some say PDAF is used to get focus and CDAF takes over to fine tune the focus..hence it takes slightly longer than AF-C but is more accurate.
Actually even when you use spot focus and AF-C, you won't see the jumping squares but it will still track focus..just not as fast...so is that pure CDAF or a hybrid? No one knows for sure..only SOny can answer that and they are not going to :)

Yeah, just got the A6000 yesterday and didn't see the PDAF working when I was in AF-S or AF-A. Turned on AF-C then it worked.

I don't really care, as long as the AF works as fast as advertised. I only have the SEL1670Z and SEL3518 lenses and I wonder if my lenses are missing out on any of the A6000 features.

AF-A support PDAF. I got it working for a couple of time.

I haven't seen it during my use yet.

On a side note, my SEL35F18 is also .01 for lens version also.

If you are using 35F1.8, lens version is still 01.

If you are using 50F1.8, 24F1.8, then your lens version will be 02.

Hi all, just got my first mirrorless camera last night!! Impressive camera and loving the weight now.
I have a question, Can we select which auto focus point we want to focus just like dslr kind?

Read the manual but can't find anything...

Theres a focus mode selection where u can select either centre AF, wide AF or flexible spot AF. Read the manual again.

Yes I saw that, what I was trying to ask is it possible to select one point to focus instead of the camera decide where to focus.

Sorry I don't know if I put across what I mean haha

As I mentioned, flexible spot AF.

After u select flexible spot single AF, use the 4 way d-pad to move the AF point around.

If only there was a single button shortcut to activate the flexible spot focus

There is no way can press a button to assign the flexible spot focus like A7. I had compared my A7r and A6000...wondering why, hope next firmware update can change it

Definitely the next firmware will add it! :) Sorry, I couldn't resist.
