From April 16 means that I can collect upon MY convenience at any time from April 16, not that they can move around the collection date.

To meet the From 16th date, they should have send the goods to various retailers by 15th! That is what it meant by release date. To my knowing, the trucks are now goin around various mall to deliver.. Hence some is collecting while others are waiting..
Pity is that shouldn't they put some priority to major sony centers like funan and wisma at least?
Well, only on certain areas.
Not as impressive as sony's claims.
But overall a improved nex.
to put it in perspective....it is not going to be my last camera I ever own, but with the current specs and what I have been reading from reviews and owners' experience, this nifty camera looks like a worthy upgrade for my trusty but aging 5N.
maybe the decision to change for NEX6/7 owners are not as clear cut...

I really do kind think that this pre-order release is badly organized… From 16th doesn't mean days after if not what for give the exact date? Might as well say mid April onwards…
But the main reason is that they are delivering the goods only on the actual day itself… They should have done so the day before (possibly later of the day to prevent some shops from releasing earlier) but in no way should one be doing delivery to retails shop at actual day of release! Poorly organized on Sony's logistic site!
Possibly my first and last pre-order with Sony …. :embrass:

For me, if they state 16th and i only manage to get it few days later then YES, that is poorly organized but they state today and it's not even half of the day yet le... Some or most got call liao also only can collect after work ard 5/6/7 plus lo....

Agree with you on that.
For me, pre-ordering is mainly cos of the attractive PO gifts. I am perfectly fine not being the very first consumer in Singapore to snap a first photo with the the A6000.....:sweat:

Gotten mine 2hrs ago from IMM Sony.
Can't remember what are the free gifts for the pre-order but I got the below:
1. Extra battery in retail packing.
2. 16GB Sony Class 10 SD Card in retail packing.
3. LCS-EBC Brown colour camera leather body case.
4. LCS-BBF Grey colour soft carrying case.
5. Black colour canvas tote bag.
6. Black colour Sony dri-fit T shirt L size.
7. Black colour Sony jockey cap.
Everything seems fine on the camera except that the writing speed to the SD card is pretty slow.
Can't remember what are the free gifts for the pre-order but I got the below:
