from the other forum....some said using center / selective focus seems better. i didn't try that during my test. Using Wide & Zone focus..most of the time it doesnt focus lock on the head but focus on body.

Did u turn on the face detection ?

Going down to try again and I was wondering how good is the ISO performance.

Check out this reviewer's "SONY A6000: HOW TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FAST AF" section.

according to him, "...I noticed Face Recognition improves AF accuracy even more, so it is a very useful feature...."

Caveat, you have to register the face for Face Recognition to work at all.....up to 8 faces.

My ang mo nose good one le..

Here's some shots I've taken with AF with tracking.

Generally it's good, but what you see are the presentable ones.
Much more OOF ones that I threw away.

In general, shooting in MID and LOW burst mode will gives better tracking results.
I believe its because it allows the camera enough time to re-focus and capture.

For those who pre-ordered (Sony or other shops) ... any news updates or rumors that this A6000 will ship earlier than 16th April as originally intended?

See several news that Asia and now America, this A6000 have earlier than expected shipment... not sure if SG will be the same? I bought from Sony center and hence expect it to be more on time (16th??) ... and those other shops likely to jump the gun and release earlier?

Can the A6000 even utilize UHS-I?

No. But out of the camera with the correct hardware is yes. But only that 1 or 2 secs faster. But that is still SONG.

Really? I thought face recognition works even if you don't register faces. I never registered any faces on my a7r...maybe that camera is different.
But i have to agree, face detection makes AF in low light especially more efficient.
I recently did a night shoot without much light around and i had to set the camera to Wide AF and let the Face Detect focus for me..Flexible spot just could not focus no matter how i tried...the face detect however, focused every single time with no issue..and this was in conditions where even the 5dmk3 and 85f1.2 lens has some trouble locking focus..
Actually, during that shoot, there were canons and nikons around and the only camera that didn't have issues focusing and didn't need an assist light was the a7r (face detect only)...surprisingly...

I just went down to Sony shop and according to the SA, u will received your a6000 on the 16 of Apr. The pre-order for the first batch shipment already ended liao so those who are interested have to wait for the next batch of shipment.

From a7 experience .. Sony will release on actual day.. Other shops got chance to get earlier.. I'm trying my luck with other shops this time round.... Hhehee..

I cannot wait until next week sia haha
