There is another FF E mount coming soon, sony said it will not replace the FF A7/A7r so i guess this new FF E mount will be under A7000/A8000/A9000.

i doubt it will be called that..the x000 series is for apsc spensors..the FF ones i think will be single digits..I do hope they release a higher speced A7r though...preferably the A9r with the AF system in the A6k.

wondering if it is just for pre-order stocks... but do note that:
if you intends to get the titanium version, you are left with no choice but the kit set.
if you are getting the black anyway, you are in luck.... you can get either body only or kit set.

The silver version is nice but they mix the black in and even the silver edition SEL lenses are NOT the same colour as the body..

yeah.. did thought of that.... but I guess mine collection of lenses are a mix of black and silver anyway.... even if i get the black...it will still be abit of of a mix and match...
I am just a little adverse to sea of black concept....
Anway... main purpose of the camera is to capture memories.... not to be seen in... so ;p
...unless they come up with some garish neon pink.....:bsmilie:

that was my initial thoughts when pre-ordering the A7 from Cathay photo when price was the same as Sony.com.sg
but the advantage of ordering from established camera shops is that they get the stock and release for sale faster than sony itself!
test and proven during A7/r release dates.
how much are these worth in street price:
1) LCS-EBC (half body cover)
2) NP-FW50 battery ----> (~S$50 based on BnS BNIB sales)
Reason why I ask is because, once beyond the pre-order stage, all the dealers will be selling the camera set at street price.....which is likely to be lesser than the launch price/pre-order price/RRP..... and without these freebies.
So for those not in hurry and not in need of these 2 freebies.... does it make more sense to pre-order still?

They woudn't drop the price immediately after pre-order. Mostly pre-order price is the same as launch price. For Sony they only reduce the price possibly more than 6 months or more. Sometimes they give freebies akind to the pre-order during Sony Days sales in Jun & Dec.
But unless a newer model is announce the price reduction is not so fast.. Especially unless they need to clear stocks. Look at Nex-6, it drop a lot from the launch price but still its more than A6000 (no doubt A6000 is a cost down model from Nex-6, they achieve this by using a 1.44MP viewfinder) to date...
Pre-order is to generate a ramp up sales (as the majority of new models sales are made within the first few months of their product cycle) ... so they do this to "attract" people ... the desire factors to own it fast! ..

I pre-ordered at Sony centre... I think the reason behind the fact that non-sony shops might release earlier is because they jump the gun and release before the commitment date by Sony rather than the Sony centres to whom are bound strictly by the guide dates.
For example the pre-order should be made from 31st March onwards... but several shops are already taking pre-orders. When I check with Sony center, they are surprised as well.. And the release is 16th Apr onwards (subject to availability) but I suppose the same non-Sony shops might have release a few days earlier to please the customers ....
Went to check with CP, they charge $79 more for PWP 55-210mm lens... hence didn't pre-order with them but got it direct from Sony instead.
The freebies IMO is well worth it ... leather case, extra batt, mystery free gift?? (was told it could be an Alpha T-shirt)
Batt $120, Leather Case ard $70 ... so its $190 worth of goodies... same as Sony Days package.. but normal sales might not include this (I got my A58 without any freebies... sigh!!)
