A6000

"SEL18200, SEL1855, SEL24F18Z, SEL30M35, SEL50F18, SEL55210"

noticed that short of SEL16F28, there are other "old" SEL lenses not in the list: SEL35F18, SEL1670Z, SEL18200LE

does it mean that these lenses are already Active Hybrid AF-ready out of the factory?

My previous NEX 6 needs firmware 1.02 to enable PDAF on 1670z.

The 179 red color crosses. That is the PDAF. Anyone get it working on the 1670z?

Based on my readings from various forums and reviews, seem like the PDAF small tiny boxes only visible during AF-C and wide area focus mode. Or AF-A mode where it decides for you if your subject is stationary (CDAF) and switches to PDAF when the subject is moving.

Oh.... so the cross no longer show up in the display??? Sorry, cause i was comparing with the NEX 6 when you enable PDAF. there is this 99 crosses on the display to tell you PDAF is selected. Haha

yeah, non of the youtube reviews of the A6000 showing the LCD or EVF view showed any crosses. You only see tiny white boxes (PDAF/hybrid AF) or green boxes (CDAF)

I tested my SEL35F18 and SEL50F18 and I can get the little green squares all over the entire screen under AF-C mode. Have not updated any firmware on these two lens yet. By the way, the AF speed under the SEL35 is way faster than the SEL50...

I own the SEL35 and SEL50 as well... interesting observation! But I am extrapolating that since Sony do not have firmware upgrade for SEL30 and it is a newer lens compared to SEL50, it might already be hybrid AF capable out of the factory. And since you have not updated your SEL50 yet, it is still using CDAF without the PDAF component? It will be interesting to see the outcome of your updated SEL50.;)

Is it? I can get the little green squares on while using the SEL50 leh... I am little confused between PDAF and CDAF but heck! As long as the AF is fast enough to focus on my kids running around will do. Hahaha

Another observation of the A6000 as compared to my old NEX-6.

Seems like high ISO shots (3200 onwards) from the A6000 are noisier than the NEX-6. Anyone has this observation as well? I have sold off my NEX-6 so can't do a direct comparison now but this is my general feeling after using the camera for half a day.

isn't this expected from a 24mp sensor compared to the previous 16mp?

your observation seem to be contrary to what the tests are suggesting.

I assumed you downloaded the shots and view it on computer screen rather than just view it on the camera LCD?

Gotten mine 2hrs ago from IMM Sony.

Can't remember what are the free gifts for the pre-order but I got the below:

1. Extra battery in retail packing.
2. 16GB Sony Class 10 SD Card in retail packing.
3. LCS-EBC Brown colour camera leather body case.
4. LCS-BBF Grey colour soft carrying case.
5. Black colour canvas tote bag.
6. Black colour Sony dri-fit T shirt L size.
7. Black colour Sony jockey cap.

Everything seems fine on the camera except that the writing speed to the SD card is pretty slow.

Collected mine yesterday evening. I did not get the soft case though. I am not sure it is poorly manage by Sony or Cathy. They said just out of stock and do not know how long it will take.

A little surprising considering that the camera stocks seem to have been in for a while already. Definitely could have been handled better overall by the distributor.

Right! Next time better place order at Sony centre. Btw, do you guys have any idea how much that soft case worth and good to have it or not? If not I don't bother waiting and buy a better one.

Are you all able to post some pics? Want to see the IQ on the kit lens
