A550

bro 1 more thing need to check is ,if the celing is high normally hw ur bounce or ur point the flash gun direct wif a flash diffuser?
Yup. You should bounce it forwards a bit, like 70 degrees (try and test). Remember, you are trying to get the light to reflect. If you shoot straight up, it will reflect straight down.

If it's really high? Depends really. I'd try with and without diffuser to see if enough light escapes for a good bounce.

tks will try and error and see wat the diff... tks for the help ..

Marcusy u dun have to bang wall . instead it the others that need lesson on the proper flash exposure with ambience.
unless u can shoot at low shutter speed which is not practical especially if u shoot event. A550 or a580 will be a better choice for yr need.
for yr info ,for the sample the ceiling u had shown it doesn't matter whether u tilted yr flash at 70-90 degree..unless yr metering for the ambience lighting is at near -1 stop at least...yr flash in ttl will have to 'overwork' and still unable to fill/merge completely the ambience nicely

tks my metering is on mulitsetment.

if u shoot in manual mode,u can check the metering on the exposure screen either on the lcd or thru the vf. i do shoot at very high iso with flash at iso1600 and 3200. it improve not only the ambience and usually noise is not really a big issue as i had seem worse shots from 5dmk2 and d700 with poor flash exposure and at high iso

A550 can be found in shops still. Call MS color, etc.

A580 needs to be brought in from JB, HK, etc.

btw forget to add i always shoot my picture in RAW format and PP in LR2

A550 is a good choice. Upgrade from A300 and never regret it.

I do not need video function so it's perfectly fine for me.

But i think Sony never sell a550 already.

Most shops were clearing their stocks at around Sep-2010.
