Actually I want both. I mean the fast AF is the "hard" part right? I mean u add in the extra sensor, mirror, etc. Why not get the articulation right?
It is impossible to use the live view in portrait mode. So unless u want to limit all your composition to landscape..... It is a pretty big limitation if you are going to use live view.

Given the bulk, size, position of the shutter button and lens zoom, I would be very amazed if you can take good self-portraits using DSLR even with full articulated LCD screen.
I am also puzzled why Nikon placed the wierd bottom mount for the articulated screen for D5000....which is a bad design.
I would say Olympus and Lumix have better articulated screen.
In any case, I would prefer to have USABLE QUICK AF in Liveview than anything else!!!

I agree with you bro, but I guess different people will have different needs & wants. Whatever it is, as long as we are happy with the camera and can live with the shortcomings, just enjoy shooting and think less about the equipment. Afterall, there is no perfect cam/system.
How when the camera is not released yet? But if you know how to click on the links posted or know how to use google, you can find sample images...
That is true. Maybe Sony would release a new DSLR with smaller form factor and able to control the zooming via button on body. That should make the full articulating LCD screen more usable. For now, I think is good enough.

The exmor sensor performs best @ it's native iso200. So why is there the need for iso100
hmm... may need to shoot in very bright conditions and 1/4000s may not be fast enough? the way i see it options include stoping down (dof affected) or slap on some filters. Anyway really do hope they include 100 c'mon Sony...
Under such situation even ISO 100 is not low enough. Been in such situation, I try set F higher (but lose the bokeh)... In the end, I just mount a ND filter. Problem Solved.

Canon owns the patent for the implementation used by Olympus & lumix.
I've seen these too, jpeg results that is.
Funny, recently I challenged whether the new 380 could potentially deliver better quality then the 700 looking at the aging of technology and someone here held it for 'impossible'.
Now with the 500 coming out it seems that it IS possible, even while comparing it to a very recent 900. I guess the truth is hold in sensors being used. At the time where I was wondering what the quality of the 380 would be, no information was present about its sensor but once released it was clear there was no new technology involved, merely a cosmetic upgrade. Hence, no better performance.
With the release of the 500 however it is about technology. And proves my assumption is correct, slowly making me wonder what the value of nowadays camera's is. Today's performance (high-end) is like 'almost' (degrades) gone tomorrow.
