[A55] Night ISO Test Shots

The red spots could be due to your sensor overheating...

Wow that serious if true.... but when I try my test shot my cam war well rested....

How is the a55 compared to the a500/550? Would love to hear feedbacks from those who have tried both

Compared between A500 and A55

Af speed and accuracy - A55 wins by a large margin.
Low(no) Light photography (No flash) - A55 wins (A500 cannot even compose or AF).
Features - A55 wins (Multi-shots NR, Sweep Panaramic, level indicator, etc).
Lightweight, carry whole day - A55 wins.

Battery life - A500 wins (A500 wins in the DSLR cat against all other makes).
Vertical grip/pro-look factor - A500 wins, A55 with 50mm prime looks almost like a Superzoom PnS.

View-finder - A500 wins in bright daylight, A55 wins in low-light and 100% Fov.

Really, really impressed with the low light capability of the A55 !

Was at the Singapore Bird Park over the weekend and took some pictures inside the (No flash allowed) Night Time Enclosure which was very dark.

Was abit annoyed by the joker beside me who kept trying to get focus lock with his cam (Too dark to see what brand) ...cause every time he tried, the owls get distracted and covered by his IR beam !!! ...had to position and time my shots right after his IR beam goes off. :bsmilie:

All photos are Jpeg straight off from camera, no PP, only resized.

...I think this form of AF will catch on with the other brands ...IR and Beams spot focus assist is too intrusive.

Oh yah ! ...one more thing ...I just hate how my nose gets molested by the LCD (leaving oil and sweat on the screen) everytime I use the OVF on the A500 compared to the 'sticking out' EVF of the A55 which even allows the LCD to face inwards, protecting the screen.
